Kerry is the base manager of our Glenwood Springs CO base where she is also a flight nurse.
As a child growing up in the Midwest, Kerry would take in injured animals and help them on their road back to health; an early sign that she was a future nurse in the making. One day, when she was a nursing student, Kerry was stuck in traffic and saw a helicopter landing on the highway median responding to a car accident. As she watched, she knew that one day she’d be part of a flight crew just like that one.
Kerry spent the next ten years working in pediatric and neonatal ICU’s, emergency rooms, and Level 1 trauma centers in Texas, Missouri, and Colorado. She got her first job as a flight nurse in 2001 before landing at Classic in 2016. Throughout her career Kerry has transported about two thousand patients and counting!
Kerry loves helping others during their hour of need, and her cool calm demeanor helps put patients at ease in tough times. In 2010, she even spent a few weeks in Haiti as part of the earthquake recovery effort. As a flight nurse, she loves the opportunity to learn something new each shift, and the views of the Rocky Mountains might be her favorite perk of the job.
When she’s not flying, Kerry lives in Berthoud CO with her husband Lance. They have three adult children (between them) and three grandchildren with another one on the way in March! She enjoys all things adventure, including camping, off-roading, and hiking. She’s a certified scuba diver, and loves scuba diving, particularly on the Caribbean island of Bonaire where she has a vacation home.
