John works out of our Pocatello ID base as northern regional maintenance manager and base mechanic. He joined the Classic team in May of 2018 and is proud to be working in his hometown.
Born in Fresno CA, John grew up just a few miles south of Pocatello in nearby Downey ID. His interest in aviation spans all the way back to his teenage days, when he was the automotive mechanic president for his high school’s automotive club.
John joined the Army Reserves in 2009. He had the choice to work on Humvees or helicopters, which soon found him taking on UH60 Blackhawks in Las Alamitos CA. After receiving his Airframe and Powerplant license from Reedley College, he worked as a helicopter and aircraft mechanic throughout California, before settling back home in Idaho and joining the Classic family.
John enjoys serving the community he lives in and watching the very helicopters he works on fly overhead when he’s at home. He loves Classic’s family environment which allows him to feel comfortable talking to anybody on the team.
When he’s not at work, John lives with his wife Mary and their two children in Downey ID. His hobbies include recreational shooting, hiking, and riding motorcycles. He’s currently getting his fixed wing private pilot license and studying to receive his BS in aviation maintenance management from Liberty University.
