Chace is the MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) manager at our Vernal UT base where he is also the manager of the FBO (Fixed Base Operator).
Chace joined the Classic Aviation team in 2008 with a background in fixed wing maintenance, and his role has grown significantly ever since.
Originally from Casper WY, Chace went from growing up helping on his grandfather’s farms to working in the oil fields after high school. Life changed after his uncle took him out flying, and Chace’s passion was born.
Eventually, Chace quit his job in road construction to go to aviation school and receive his mechanic certificate. His career took him everywhere from the Grand Canyon to the Great Lakes, where he worked for FedEx.
One day, a friend called asking if Chace would be interested in buying his Dive Shop in Page AZ. He was and he spent the next few years running the family owned business Twin Finn and specializing in all things fun on Lake Powell. When a pilot from Classic stopped by the Dive Shop asking if Chace would ever come back to aviation, he pivoted back to his roots and returned to aviation.
Chace’s favorite aspect of the job is when he gets to troubleshoot discrepancies on the aircraft. He quickly earned the nickname “Crackmeister” for his keen eye for aircraft safety. His favorite part of working for Classic is the family atmosphere, honesty, and trust.
When he’s not working, Chace lives in Vernal with his wife Stacie. They have three children, a son who served in the military, and two daughters; one in college and one entering high school. Chace spends his free time hunting, fishing, diving, and kayaking. But his top hobby of the moment is learning aerobatics with his radio control helicopters
