Our external load captains have great amounts of experience in precision construction work, such as: placing air conditioners, setting poles, pulling sock line, hanging microwave dishes on towers, salvaging aircraft and other vehicles in mountainous terrain, etc…
and Western Colorado for over 21 years.
Classic’s EMS contributions have evolved from a primitive wilderness rescue responder to a Commission on Accreditation Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) accredited 24 hour program. Our aircraft are outfitted with state of the art Night Vision Goggle (NVG) equipment, Automated Flight Following (AFF), Terrain Avoidance Warning Systems (TAWS) and other leading edge technology, to safely respond to every conceivable emergency within a 250 statue mile radius of our base.
Because of the challenging lifesaving work we’ve done over so many years, we are highly respected by Government Agencies, such as, NPS, USFS, local law enforcement, Native American Tribal governments and the medical community. We hire from all 50 States to attract the most experienced pilots and medical personnel. Some of our pilots have been with us for 18 years and longer and are extremely familiar with the vast terrain and area we service.
In order to utilize our fleet of helicopters most effectively, we dispatch the airplane to transport patients to distant trauma centers.
