Zackery is a Flight Paramedic splitting his time between our Page, Jackson Hole, and Pocatello bases. In case that wasn’t enough, he’s also involved with Classic’s outreach education program, supporting small communities without access to continued medical education.
Zackery grew up a “small-town country kid” milking cows on his family farm in Idaho, before attending Dixie State University in St. George, Utah as part of its first graduating class in 2013. A classically trained singer and music major, Zackery received a scholarship that paid for his paramedic school tuition. After graduating, Zackery worked as an ambulance paramedic in St. George, before applying for his self-proclaimed dream job in the sky.
He quickly became a well known face in the paramedic community, and grew acquainted with Classic Air Medical’s staff and reputation. Now, Zackery’s job takes him all across the Rockies, flying to the Grand Canyon one day and Lake Powell the next. One of his most memorable experiences with the company was the Bryce Canyon bus rollover in 2019, where Zackery and his partner were the first helicopter on the scene before transporting four patients in a single day.
When he’s not flying, Zackery is saving even more lives on the ground, working as a part-time ground in Nephi, Utah for Juab County EMS. Zackery considers himself lucky to view his job as one of the things he does for fun, but also saves the time to play piano, sing, camp, and spend time with his family and many nieces and nephews.
