Ernest joined the Classic team in September of 2019 and is a flight paramedic at our Los Alamos NM and Pagosa Springs CO bases.
Ernest’s EMS career began thirteen years ago, shortly after graduating high school in Manasa CO where he still calls home today. He’s worked for EMS teams all over Southern Colorado, where he got his first exposure to flight paramedics and set his sights on one day joining them in the sky.
Ernest loves his life as a flight medic so much that he doesn’t even consider it a job, but rather just something he’s excited and passionate to do every day. He enjoys the close-knit nature of life on the base, especially gathering for family dinners and the commitment to continuing education.
When he’s not saving lives, Ernest lives with his wife Amanda (also a medic!) and their four children. They love to hunt and camp together as a family, but Ernest still makes time for his own hobbies: working on cars and cooking. It’s a wonder then that on top of all that, Ernest is also the director for the local agency of Conjeos County EMS and a fire captain for Antonito Fire.
