Cy joined the Classic team in 2019 and is a paramedic at our Rawlins base.
Cy’s days as a paramedic stretch all the way back to his teenage years, when he first started shadowing EMS teams at just 14 years old. While other high schoolers played sports and went to parties, Cy was riding in ambulances and helping to save lives in his hometown of Wheatland, Wyoming.
Before long, Cy became an EMT, working in hospitals at the medical floor, ICU, psych ward, emergency room, surgery, and recovery levels. In 2001, he joined the fire department in Laramie, where he still calls home today and currently serves as a paramedic and equipment operator for the department in addition to its EMS coordinator. Despite all that, Cy still finds time for his Classic team, which he says “makes his heart happy” and is just as much of a supportive and familial atmosphere as the firehouse.
When Cy’s not saving lives, he enjoys spending time with his wife Ami, a high school teacher, and their two kids, ages 10 and 13. He’s helped coach his daughter’s softball team for the past five years, and loves skiing, camping, boating, and spending as much time as possible with his family in the great outdoors; taking full advantage of calling Wyoming his own personal backyard.
