Anders has worked for Classic for over four years as a flight paramedic at our Steamboat base. Anders grew up just north of New York City. He has been a paramedic since 1995, when he started working in ground ambulances in Denver, CO. He has two children. His daughter recently got married in July to a pilot (go figure!). His son is currently a junior at CSU, where he is studying sports therapy. He has many hobbies, including scuba diving and traveling to remote places (he’s trekked the Himalayas and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro!). With this kind of resume, one surprising fact is that he’s never been sky diving!
When he’s not saving people, Anders is teaching them how to protect themselves! He’s been involved in martial arts for the last 36 years. He specializes in Japanese grappling and ninjutsu. He has been teaching his own classes since 2008 (after getting special permission from Japan!). If that wasn’t interesting enough, he also spends time with sharks! He moonlights as a paramedic, safety officer, and rescue diver for production companies that shoot videos for Shark Week on Discovery! Now we just need a video of him grappling with a shark to add to his spotlight!
