Amy has been a part of the Classic team since 2012, working as a flight paramedic at our Riverton WY base as well as serving as the regional precept lead for the state of Wyoming.
Born and raised in the Cowboy State, Amy has spent most of her life and career in Wyoming. She became an EMT in 1999 and a paramedic in 2003 after finding what she describes as “her calling” at just 16 years old. In 2004, Amy became the first civilian paramedic at Yellowstone National Park where she spent a season laying the groundwork for the park’s civilian training program.
For her next challenge, Amy set her sights on the sky and became a certified flight paramedic. She says her favorite part of the job is not all the complex technical and medical procedures she knows how to do, but rather, simply being able to provide a reassuring pat on the back to a patient in a time of need. As she nears nine years with Classic, Amy says her coworkers have become family, and she looks forward to coming to work because of the time she spends with them.
When she’s not saving lives, Amy lives in Cody WY. She has one daughter and enjoys traveling, playing video games with the Call of Duty contingency at the base, and teaching EMS programs at Northwest College.
Despite nearly a decade in the air medical industry, Amy is scared of heights, but she says she’s never felt afraid in her office in the clouds!
